Facility Manager
We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive facility manager to oversee the upkeep, efficiency and excellence of the buildings, grounds, facilities and equipment of Blue Bay Curaçao. In this role you excel at coordinating, planning and leading operations. You are a real natural when it comes to coaching, guiding and motivating your team to perform at their best. This role requires a dynamic approach to managing multiple departments, including housekeeping, (pool) maintenance, gardening and account management. With a strong business mindset, you are seeking for opportunities to enhance our services, while ensuring guest and customer satisfaction.

Overseeing daily operations in the department.
Planning and coordinating projects related to the services department.
Serving as the point of contact for all facility management matters (internal and external).
Performing regular quality and spot checks.
Being part of the Management Team and actively participates in meetings.
Budget and control facility needs.
You completed a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in facility management or an equivalent study.
You have significant and proven work experience, of at least 3 years, in a similar position.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
You are in the possession of a structured and solution-focused approach.
Good command of English & Dutch. Spanish and Papiamentu are a plus.

Understandably, many think that the name Blue Bay was chosen because of the striking blue water in the bay. The truth is that this beautiful part of Curaçao was already named ‘Blaauwbaai’ (Blue Bay in Dutch), after Anno Blaauw, the owner at the time. He grew limes, oranges and – to make the name even more appropriate – the blue pigment indigo.
Over the years, the plantation has had its share of different owners. In 1800, it was occupied and plundered by French pirates. In the 20th century, it became the property of the Jacobs family, who used it as a farm. During the Second World War, American soldiers manned cannons at Blue Bay to shoot at German submarines.
The master plan of Blue Bay Resort dates back to 1990, when a local development group purchased the plantation from the Jacobs family and built the first infrastructure. In 1997, developer Steve Raspoort saw the area’s enormous potential. Step by step, he established a thriving resort and golf course. Steve Raspoort passed away in 2007, but his family continued realizing his dream to create a welcoming place where life is enjoyed to the fullest. Blue Bay has since grown to become a household name on Curaçao and in the Caribbean.
