As Housekeeping Coordinator, you play a key supporting and coordinating role within the Housekeeping department. You ensure daily housekeeping operations run smoothly and that our accommodations meet the high cleanliness, quality and guest service standards of Blue Bay Curaçao to excellence.

The position

• Coordinating daily housekeeping operations and schedules based on occupancy and operational needs.

• Acting as a central point of contact between Housekeeping, Front Office, Maintenance and other departments.

• Registering housekeeping-related issues, requests and follow-ups in designated systems.

• Supporting inspections of accommodations and common areas and ensuring timely follow-up actions.

• Assisting with linen management, inventory control and ordering of housekeeping supplies.

• Supporting housekeeping supervisors with planning, reporting and quality control.

• Handling guest requests and complaints related to housekeeping services in a professional manner.

• Contributing to process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality and guest satisfaction.

• Creating and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Your profile

• Bachelor’s degree or MBO+/HBO level, preferably in Hospitality Management or a related field.

• Proven experience in housekeeping, preferably in a coordinating or similar role.

• Strong organizational and administrative skills with high attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Customer- and service-oriented mindset.

• Able to work independently as well as within a team in a dynamic environment.

• Fluent in English and Dutch; Spanish and Papiamentu are a plus.

• Professional, reliable and proactive attitude with a strong sense of responsibility.

A little history about us

Understandably, many think that the name Blue Bay was chosen because of the striking blue water in the bay. The truth is that this beautiful part of Curaçao was already named ‘Blaauwbaai’ (Blue Bay in Dutch), after Anno Blaauw, the owner at the time. He grew limes, oranges and – to make the name even more appropriate – the blue pigment indigo.

Over the years, the plantation has had its share of different owners. In 1800, it was occupied and plundered by French pirates. In the 20th century, it became the property of the Jacobs family, who used it as a farm. During the Second World War, American soldiers manned cannons at Blue Bay to shoot at German submarines.

The master plan of Blue Bay Resort dates back to 1990, when a local development group purchased the plantation from the Jacobs family and built the first infrastructure. In 1997, developer Steve Raspoort saw the area’s enormous potential. Step by step, he established a thriving resort and golf course. Steve Raspoort passed away in 2007, but his family continued realizing his dream to create a welcoming place where life is enjoyed to the fullest. Blue Bay has since grown to become a household name on Curaçao and in the Caribbean.
